MARGARITË CAMAJ, ESQ.

Margaritë Camaj, Esq., well-known as Magi, is a founding partner of The Camaj and Lee Firm. Margaritë is also an Attorney, Creative, Entrepreneur, Professor, and more that has always had a mission to protect artists and businesses of all kinds. As an Albanian woman, raised in the Bronx, New York, the birth of Hip-Hop, Margaritë’s diverse background gave her the abundant tools to break through the barriers.

Essentially, anyone who creates something from nothing whether it be music, film, or a start-up business has paved the path to success in their own way. Margaritë has extensive knowledge and experience in both the Entertainment and Entrepreneurship realm, being that her career in the Entertainment Industry interconnects with both the creative and legal spectrum. One of Margaritë’s goals has always been to supply her clients with the knowledge, direction, and protection under the law that is necessary in order to reach their desired success, maintain it, and thrive in it. During law school, Margaritë found a way to balance her creative and legal side. She worked in the Judicial Office in the Westchester County Court, researched the New York Penal Code and created an in-depth sentencing guideline for use, analyzed statistics regarding juvenile crime, and gained plenty of transactional experience in various parts of the law, such as Entertainment, Immigration, and Real Estate. During law school, she also published 6 of her 20 books. She also was heavily involved as a member of the Entertainment & Arts Law Society, always knowing that her passion for music ran deep. After receiving her Juris Doctor degree and passing the NY bar exam in 2016, she went on to obtain her licenses to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C.

Margaritë has represented a versatile pool of clients that have included high-profile artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs, helping their careers become secure as they navigate through their careers. Being an 20x published best-selling author, songwriter, and a spoken word artist herself, she has gained first-hand, direct, and immediate experience necessary in understanding various areas of law, whether it be regarding the music business, film industry, or intellectual property, specifically copyright and trademark. Her experience in these fields helps her clients navigate the Entertainment Industry successfully.

In addition to being so integrated in the Entertainment Industry in both the legal and creative aspects, Margaritë is also a writer for highly known publications in music and more, attracting a plethora of readers and allowing her to tap into the latest rising artists. Her experience, knowledge, and leadership range far and wide in all areas of Entertainment and Entrepreneurship, especially when it comes to the law. In turn, this has all translated in regards to Margaritë’s passion and commitment to representing her clients.

MARGARET LEE, ESQ.

Margaret Lee, Esq. is a founding partner of The Camaj and Lee Firm. Margaret is also a Creative and Entrepreneur that is strongly devoted to representing her clients. As an African-American woman, born and raised in Westchester County, New York (specifically Greenburgh, New York), she tackled obstacles that have given her the instruments to persevere and achieve all of her goals to date.

Margaret is a proud alumna of The Howard University and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2011. Margaret later went on to law school and received her Juris Doctor degree in 2016. During law school, Margaret interned at the Westchester Regional Office – New York State Office of the Attorney General, where she conducted legal research, drafted post-trial briefs and motions regarding claims where the State was charged for negligence in various matters. As a 2L, Margaret also participated in a Judicial Externship in both the Bronx Supreme Court and First Judicial Department, Appellate Term, Supreme Court in Manhattan. As part of her Judicial Externship, Margaret conducted legal research, observed appellate arguments, drafted decisions, orders, and other legal memoranda. In addition, Margaret participated in bench conferences and assisted the Judge in deciding motions in limine. Margaret also represented her law school when she participated in the National Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition. Margaret was also actively involved in the Black Law Students Association and Sports, Entertainment & Arts Law Society.

After law school, Margaret began working for Unilever in 2017. There, she joined the Employment & Labor in-house Legal team. At Unilever, Margaret is responsible for preparing and responding to employment pre-litigation matters such as the Company’s responses to all Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Charges of Discrimination and other complaints from State agencies. On behalf of the Company, Margaret also actively participates in mandatory mediations and fact-findings associated with these administrative Charges and complaints. She also handles the Company’s employee performance management matters both in the corporate and factory settings. Margaret exemplified her leadership and legal skills when she provided assistance to the Company’s Benefit’s department when the Department of Labor began its investigation into the Company’s procedures and policies. Additionally, Margaret regularly trains the Company’s Human Resources department on various employment, labor, and benefits law topics.

In addition to having a concentration in Employment & Labor, Margaret is also an Entertainment attorney. Margaret provides counsel to individuals in all areas of the entertainment industry giving advice to producers, artists, songwriters, record labels, managers, and the like. Margaret enjoys helping her clients build a legally sound framework on how to be successful in their careers and other endeavors.

Margaret is a foodie and is always ready to go out for good eats. She enjoys painting, DIY projects, listening to music, traveling, swimming and architecture.
